Community Engagement Grants

GRF Community Engagement Grants aim to empower and support congregations in their efforts to make a positive impact on their communities. Project grants are designed to foster community engagement, encourage ministry innovation, and promote collaboration among diverse stakeholders.

Thanks to the generous support of GRF individuals and churches, multiple grants of up to $1,000 each are available.

Community Engagement: designed to encourage congregations to actively engage with their local communities, understanding the unique needs and challenges they face. Projects ideally should be developed with the community's input, ensuring that the initiatives directly address their concerns and contribute to their well-being.

Innovation: Great Rivers Fellowship recognizes the importance of embracing innovation and creative solutions to address complex community issues effectively. Projects that demonstrate originality and fresh approaches to longstanding problems are highly valued.

Collaboration: To maximize impact, the grants encourage congregations to collaborate with other GRF congregations, local organizations, non-profits, and community leaders. By forming partnerships and working together, projects can leverage collective strengths, resources, and expertise for greater community benefit.

Justice: Initiatives that address systemic inequalities and work towards positive social change are strongly encouraged.

Bearing Witness to Jesus Christ: The Fellowship believes that acts of service and compassion are powerful ways to bear witness to the love of Jesus Christ. Projects that demonstrate Christ's teachings through practical actions are at the core of these grants.

Transformation: Ultimately, the grants seek to bring about transformation in the communities they serve. Whether through educational programs, advocacy campaigns, or service-oriented projects, successful initiatives should have a lasting and positive impact, leading to positive change and a stronger sense of community.
