  • Logue-Higgins Scholarship (LHS-Arkansas) Dr. Tom Logue was a Ph.D. graduate in Christian Ethics under Dr. T. B. Maston at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX.  In the mid 1950s, he became the Director of Baptist Student Union work for the Arkansas Baptist State Convention through the mid 1980s.  He influenced generations of BSU directors and college students with his progressive theological and ethical views, his commitment to the local church, and his development for Christian lay leaders in the workplace, in society, and in the church.  In retirement, he became the founding Coordinator of the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of Arkansas in the early 1990s until his retirement in December 2004.  During his ministry, Tom, and his wife Ethel, were a ministry team who invested their lives in the leadership and future of next generation ministers.  This scholarship is designed to continue their legacy.

Upon the retirement of Dr. Ray Higgins, CBF of AR Coordinator in 2021, the Tom & Ethel Logue Seminary Student Scholarship Fund was renamed to Logue-Higgins Scholarship.

Up to three $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to seminary students who meet the following qualifications: a Baptist, attending a CBF partner/friendly seminary, and a preference for students interested in collegiate related ministry.

The scholarship is awarded to Mississippi students pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees at accredited colleges and universities. Scholarship amounts may vary.
